Well. We are back. Six months later...But before we can explain why we are back - maybe it’s best to explain where we’ve been.
The Overload was founded as a result of the work that we had done working on events that involved international rugby matches and events, as well as large scale events including the USA Sevens, Los Angeles Sevens, and collegiate events.
Following the 2025 LA Sevens, we started The Overload as a project to bring ongoing conversation to the sport of rugby, taking what was an annual event to something where we could have ongoing touch points through the year, using our platform to bring fresh stories and personalities to our audience to grow the game in the United States.
Other projects forced a brief break from rugby. But after a long winter, we’re more focused and thrilled to continue on this journey as an independent publication.
Rugby needs scrutiny, not just celebration. Honesty, not just access. The full picture, not just the highlight reels. Accountability, not just admiration. The people behind the sport, not just the spectacle. Voices across the game, not just the loudest ones. A game examined, not just hyped. Stories worth telling, not just stories that are easy to tell.
Journalism that reflects rugby, that isn’t just seeking to promote it.
We are thrilled to have you along with us on this journey.
